Quinoa Crunch & Strawberry Avocado Smoothie Bowl

Smoothies are more than just an opportunity to nourish yourself with micronutrients, they can also fulfill your body’s needs for healthy fats, slow digesting carbohydrates, and the energy boosting, hormone balancing properties of maca which we include in this recipe.

The joy of having our Quinoa Crunch on hand as a topping is there’s no need to go scrambling for seeds, nuts and dried fruit -  it’s got all the crunch, flavor and variety necessary to make your smoothie bowls complete in an instant, with the many health benefits of quinoa - and none of the cooking

Preparation Time : 5 minutes - Servings : 1 

Ingredients

  • 1 small frozen banana, approx. 100g

  • 150g frozen strawberries

  • ½ a ripe avocado, approx. 60g*

  • 2 tbsp (20g) oats or quinoa flakes

  • 1 tsp milled chia seeds

  • 1 tbsp lime juice

  • 125ml milk of your choice (almond / coconut / dairy)

  • ½ - 1 tbsp maca powder (maca has a distinct malty flavor – adjust according to your taste buds!)

  • 20g (2 tbsp) Quinoa Crunch with pecan and cranberry for topping

Preparation

  1. Blend together all smoothie ingredients, in a high speed blender or NutriBullet until smooth. (Hold a slice or two of fresh avocado for when you’re adding toppings to your smoothie bowl)

  2. Pour your blended mixture into a bowl, top with Homespun Quinoa Crunch for extra taste and texture. Add your reserved fresh avocado and sprinkle on any extra fruit of your choice.
